Air Fryer Pretzel-Crusted Trout Tenders

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup salted pretzels
  • 1 tsp granulated garlic
  • 3/4 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pound rainbow trout fillets
DIRECTIONS
  1. Rinse and pat rainbow trout fillets dry. Using kitchen shears, cut fillets into tender sized pieces.
  2. Place pretzels in baggie to crush into small pieces. You can also use a food processor but leave some larger pieces for texture. Add to a dipping bowl.
  3. Add flour to a separate dipping bowl.
  4. Beat egg in another dipping bowl and set aside.
  5. Take one tender at a time and dredge first in flour, then egg, then pretzel crumbs.
  6. Place tender on air fryer sheet. Repeat with all tender pieces, leaving space between them to allow the air fryer to cook.
  7. Place air fryer basket in air fryer and set temperature to 400 degrees and set timer for 8-10 minutes. Turn halfway through to get crispy on both sides.
  8. Serve with honey mustard sauce and enjoy!
